Talk about an eye-opening experience in terms of context. We had all sorts of mothers show up, from single momma, to preggo momma, to been-there-done-that momma. The underlying question was, how the hell do you juggle children and your dream job? What are the sacrifices and what don't we see these types of moms more online? It's not always cute and instagrammable, so we provided space to dig in a little deeper on the insecurities and troubled thoughts around motherhood and running your own business.
Thanks to our discussion leader, Mariko from Miks Letterpress+, providing the group with questions and digging in deeper with curiosities around "how are you doing it?!"
How about that Carolyn? She's a bombshell in business and was lovely enough to let us into one of her "homes", Brief Assembly, which is currently closed till next season. It hosted amazing artisans from across the nation providing you with eclectic options for home goods, jewelry, and clothing!
We had a crazy temporary set up for lighting. The light stand was left outside of the house (thankfully no one stole it) and we had to think quickly together on how to strap up the light without having it fall forward! We brought in a lot of plants, tape, and random furniture to hold that sucker up!
